Fatcow's .org domain sale

Right now Fatcow has a promotion where you can get a .ORG domain for $9.99 per year. I've often thought of getting .ORG versions of my websites (mainly so people don't steal them). I remember seeing a post on SEOMOZ where they said that a .ORG website will, all things being equal, outrank a .COM website. Google seems to value .ORG's more. It used to be that you had to be a non-profit to get a .ORG domain, but of course nowadays there's no such restriction.
